Thyme Herb (lat. Thymus Serpyllum) is a genus of plants belonging to the Lamiaceae family, including several species of Eurasia and North Africa. In Poland, the thyme genus includes 10 species of plants, including the popular spice - thyme - whose full name is in fact thyme. All species of thyme have greater or lesser healing properties due to the essential oil content.
Infusion
Pour one tablespoon of dried thyme herb with a glass of boiling water and leave it to brew for 15 minutes. Strain and drink three times a day before eating as an expectorant or after eating for better digestion.
Bath infusion
200g of dry thyme herb pour 3-4 liters of boiling water and leave for 20 minutes to stretch. Pour into a bath of water, making sure that its temperature does not exceed 38°C. Immerse yourself in a bath for 10-15 minutes - it strengthens the body, soothes neuralgia, rheumatic ailments and acne lesions.

The main contraindication to the use of thyme preparations is allergy to thymol and other plants from the labial family, i.e. thyme. People suffering from thyroid diseases should consult a doctor before taking thyme preparations, due to the risk of thyme's influence on the secretion of thyroid hormones.
There are no studies determining the safety of use of thyme in children under 12 years of age. and pregnant women, therefore it is not recommended for consumption by these groups of patients.
