Calamus Root (lat. Calami Rhizoma) the name comes from the medieval period. At that time, along with the Tatar invasions, the aromatic herb came to the Ruthenian and Polish lands. From the records of chroniclers it is known that the Tatars and Turks used calamus rhizomes as a medicine and to treat water. Calamus improved its taste, aroma and prevented the development of germs in it. Earlier, the Mongols reportedly used to plant calamus at any water source they intended to drink from. This gave rise to one of the old, no longer used names "Mongolian poison".

Dosage and how to use

Infusion

Pour half a tablespoon of crushed rhizomes with a glass of boiling water, brew for 10 minutes. After straining, drink one glass three times a day. It improves digestion, strengthens the body after diseases or excessive fatigue.

In the case of stomach and intestinal spikes, diarrhea, as a remedy for fever and refreshing: 2 teaspoons of calamus powder pour with a glass of boiling water. Infuse for 2 hours in a tightly closed vessel. After straining, drink 1/4 cup 3 times a day half an hour before eating.

Tea for intestinal and liver cancer

Pour 1 teaspoon of ground rhizome with a glass of cold water. Set aside overnight and heat up in the morning. You can only drink 6 sips a day. One before breakfast, one after, the same for lunch and dinner.

Decoction for external use

1.5-2 tablespoons of crushed calamus rhizomes pour 3 glasses of water. Simmer for 5 minutes, covered. Set aside, strain after 15 minutes. The decoction is used for:

Rinsing the mouth and throat in case of infections, bad breath;
For hair rinses. In case of excessive hair loss, alopecia, dandruff, seborrheic skin and dullness - it is good to add burdock;
About 1-2 liters of decoction per bath is added to the strengthening bath;
A bath with a decoction of rhizomes or leaves strengthens the body, refreshes, calms, improves mood, acts as an aphrodisiac.

Calamus preparations used in the recommended doses do not show any harmful effects. Calamus treatment lasts up to 3 weeks. It is applied no more than twice a quarter.
