Acacia Flower (lat. Acacia Mill.) comes from North America. The white flower of the tree makes the plant a popular ornamental tree in Europe. It came to Europe at the beginning of the 17th century thanks to Jean Robin. The bark of the trunk and limbs is hard, deeply furrowed and fissured. It has a dark grey color. Young twigs have thin, smooth, red-brown bark. It has a lush crown, oval leaves and lots of flowers. In addition to its nice appearance, the acacia flower deserves attention for its honey aroma and healing properties. Acacia flowers are rich in flavonoids (robinin, acacetin, kaempferol and epigenin), as well as organic acids, leucoanthocyanoside sugars and mineral salts. They also contain a high concentration of essential oils composed of piperonal, farnesol and linalool.

Dosage and how to use

Brew

Use 1 tablespoon of dried acacia flowers, pour a glass of boiling water over it and let it brew, covered, for about 10 minutes. Acacia flower tea, drunk several times a day, has a great calming effect, relieves stomach pains caused by indigestion, strengthens the nervous system and gives energy when we are tired.

Face Tonic

To prepare it, we will need about 1 cup of acacia flowers. They should be poured with boiled or demineralized water and left for 24 hours. After a day, add 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar to the glass and mix the contents carefully.

Acacia syrup for strengthening

Ingredients:

  • 30 acacia inflorescences
  • 2 liters of water
  • 2 kg of sugar
  • 2 lemons

Boil water in a pot, add sugar, cook, stirring, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Take the pot off the heat. Remove the blooming flowers from the petioles, add them to the cool syrup, add lemon juice through a strainer. Mix well and knead with a wooden spoon so that the flowers are completely immersed in the syrup. Press them with a plate, cover the pot and refrigerate for 2-3 days. Remove the pot daily and stir briefly. Filter the liquid through a sieve lined with folded gauze. In your hands, squeeze the syrup from the flowers. Bring the syrup to a boil, simmer for 3 minutes. Pour boiling into boiled jars with twist-off caps, put the jars upside down. Store in a dark and cool place. Drink acacia syrup diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 6.
