The leaves, flowers, and fruits of the senna plant have been used in tea as a laxative or stimulant for centuries. The leaves of the Senna plant are also used in some teas to help relieve constipation or promote weight loss.
Senna Tea Preparation:
Pour hot (not boiling) water over 1-2 teaspoon of Senna leaves. Allow the tea to steep for 10 minutes and then strain.
Senna tea starts to work within 1-3 hours of ingesting. It isn't recommended for anyone on a regular basis, for a one time use it can be used for a laxative when constipated.
