Wormwood Herb (lat. Artemisia Absinthium) commonly called white-tailed wormwood, vermouth, dog rue, absinthe , is an herb that in a fantastic way affects the work of the digestive system and supports proper metabolism. It increases the secretion of digestive juices and bile and improves appetite. It has a toxic effect on parasites, worms and fungi that attack our body. In addition, it increases uterine contractions, which makes it helpful in case of weak menstruation.

It was also a component of the ointment, which – according to the papyrus records – was to be used for headaches by the goddess Isis herself. The first part of the name – Artemisia – is a tribute to the goddess Artemis, the guardian of the herbal garden belonging to Hecate. Both the Greeks and Romans counted wormwood among the most important medicinal herbs. They used it externally to treat wounds, birthmarks, burns and internally for digestive ailments, but also for menstrual and perinatal disorders.

Health properties

  • It perfectly supports digestion by stimulating the secretion of digestive juices: gastric, pancreatic and intestinal juice and bile;
  • Regulates peristaltic bowel movements - stimulates "lazy" intestines to act and slows them down when they are excessive;
  • Positively affects the functioning of the liver and bile ducts;
  • Raises appetite;
  • It supports the body in the fight against fungi, parasites and worms, both internal and external (e.g. mites, pinworms and lice) because it has a toxic effect on them;
  • Stimulates menstrual bleeding.
