Birch Bark (lat. Betulae Cortex L.) recently, birch bark extracts have become more and more popular. Birch bark is distinguished by an exceptionally high content of triterpene compounds (approx. 80%). The most important compounds belonging to this group include: lupeol, betuleinic acid and betulin, which has the strongest biological effect. Birch bark is the raw material with the greatest therapeutic potential and freely available of all birch raw materials. Its extracts have a high content of biologically active compounds. For this reason, they are widely used in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Modern medicine is particularly fond of the action of betulin and betulinic acid.

Application
- In the prevention of skin aging;

- For years it has been used in the treatment of: atopic dermatitis, acne, dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, scabies, eczema, skin mycosis, burns, frostbite, itching and allergies.
Dosage and how to use
Infusion
Use 1 tablespoon of dried bark, pour it with boiling water into 1 cup, and leave, covered, for 20 minutes. Drain. Drink 3 times a day.

None reported.
Contraindications
It cannot be used on open wounds, in folliculitis and exudative psoriasis, and during pregnancy. It should be used for no more than 3-6 weeks and only on small areas of the skin. It shows photosensitizing properties.
